A Note Before You Join

From Abdulaziz Tubbal, Creator & Lead Instructor

Why OTP exists, what it is - and what it is not.

WHY OTP EXISTS

Because more techniques do not always solve the real problem.

Many physiotherapists already have useful manual skills.

What is often missing is not another isolated technique, but a clearer way to understand what the body is doing, how the hand should enter, where the clinician should begin, and how that decision connects to what happens next.

OTP was built to help bridge that gap.

THE TURNING POINT

Two things changed everything for me.

How I began to read the body.

What my hand was actually supposed to do.

That shift is at the centre of OTP.

WHAT LEVEL 1 REALLY IS

Level 1 is not the start of collecting techniques. It is the start of changing how you enter.

Level 1 begins with the hand: how you place it, how you reduce unnecessary force, how you observe the body’s response, how you distinguish information from reaction, and how what you feel starts shaping the clinical decision.

From Techniques to Listening.

From Pain Location to Body System.

From History to Story.

IF THIS SOUNDS FAMILIAR

I know techniques, but I do not always know where to begin.

I often start from the site of pain by default.

I want my hands to notice more before they do more.

Sometimes the patient improves, but I cannot clearly explain why.

I want better clinical reasoning around manual work.

I want to connect what I feel to a better decision.

If several of these feel familiar, Level 1 may be a meaningful entry point.

IMPORTANT

Know what you are saying yes to.

Level 1 is not a shortcut to becoming an Osteopathic Practitioner.

It is not a replacement for physiotherapy.

It is not a collection of impressive isolated techniques.

It is not built around force, performance or showing off manual tricks.

It is the first step in learning how osteopathic thinking can deepen the hands-on clinical identity of the physiotherapist.
